Another trip to the ER

Sunday evening we spent three hours in the ER. This time it was for our other daughter (funny how neither one of the boys has had to go...YET). Here's what happened. We had dinner over at a friends. After we ate, the kids were out playing in the backyard. They had a rope tied to a tree, with knots at the bottom to hang on to, that the kids were taking turns swinging on. Shannon, the daredevil that she is, kept going higher each time. The last time was pretty high and her hands slipped and down she went. We think it was about ten feet in the air, if not higher, because the ground sloped down. We thought maybe it was just a sprain but sure enough, she broke her arm. It wasn't a big break, but enough to have a splint put on. We go tomorrow for a follow-up to see what her Dr. says.

Yikes! Glad she didn't get hurt beyond that. I broke my arm when I was in 4th grade. I was on top of the monkey bars and fell off. I think kids do things just to freak us out...

Terri broke her arm playing follow the leader with me. I landed fine off the monkey bars but she had to land on her hands - her feet flew out from under her.
Now the embarrassing part was as we walked in to go to the nurse I had Terri's hand laying on my hand and I was being 'the big sister' and I was telling everyone that she broke her 'ankle'. I was a little confused. hehe
Well hopefully Shannon will be a little more careful. Ya right, uh? I hope it heals quickly.
